The Wrong Way To Use Private Label Content
Private Label Rights (PLR) content has picked up a bad reputation over the years. A lot of people incorrectly assume that every piece of PLR content is junk (or not usable).
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The key is to know what good PLR really is and then where to find it.
Then of course… to use it in the right way!
Good PLR is really just editable/customizable content that you can use as a baseline for your own production. In the following video, Justin Popovic explains how NOT to use PLR and gives some tips on how you should view PLR so that it becomes a powerful asset in your business tool box.
(As for where to find that good PLR to use… just have a quick look around lol)
Thanks.
All true but writing is still not an easy thing. My problem is trying to get away from the constant tinkering with a product/article instead of just putting it out there…
Why not try writing an article from start to finish. Give it a quick once over to catch any major issues… and publish it.
I’ve done it many times. Sure there were mistakes and other minor things I wish I could have changed but some of those articles yielded some of my best results because I didn’t give myself time to second guess myself.
Its like when I do video. If I prescribe my talk ahead of time with bullets and sub points… I suck.
When I speak from the heart on something I know… its easy. My mind doesn’t get in the way.
Try that with your writing.
So true Justin. I don’t see what is so hard to understand about this simple concept.
PLR gives you the right to change the content and slap your name on it as the author. Change the cover using different background and graphics. Put a catchy title on it. Go through the content rewording the words so they are your own personality speaking to your readers.
Maybe even rearrange the chapters so they come across the way you want to present this info. Delete some of content if it does fit your beliefs. Add a chapter or two if needed to get your point across. And you now have a product of your own.
All a PLR product is it’s an outline for your product production. Maybe it’s lazy that gets in the way of this process.
What I’ve found is once you start playing around with a piece of PLR your creative juices kick into gear. When that happens just go with it and surprise yourself.
Why in the world would you want to put your name on something to sell that looks exactly like 10,000 other products. Make your product stand out so it will sell.
Awesome point Roy… I especially like the part about using PLR to get your creativity into high gear. That is the PERFECT way to use it.
Thanks
Great points in this video, Justin – it’s what I do with PLR. I lean toward buying PLR that has a direct relation to my subject and my area of expertise, and try to stay focused on that. I’m a coach and consultant, specializing in working with women who are preparing for, or who have already undergone weight loss surgery, and so PLR on mindset, attitude, health, and recipes are interesting to me and to my market. I also coach women on how to upgrade and update their visual image after significant weight loss, and the PLR on mindset, attitude, etc also works for that segment of my market.
Thank you for the consistently great content I get from you and your partners.
Hey Dianne
Thanks for your insights. Your are an excellent example of someone using PLR the right way. You already have a VERY well defined business, market, audience, etc…
and so you can find the right PLR packages to fuel your business needs.
I think a lot of people who struggle with using PLR haven’t done the first part (the hard part)… which is carving out their niche and defining EXACTLY what they do for a living. It can be tricky in this crazy online business world we live in.
However once you find it, the PLR strategy works awesome.
Thanks again for sharing
Agreed! And in today’s “curation” mind set you could even provide links to Youtube videos that demonstrate the material just covered… or possibly show a contrary video and ask the user questions to generate a discussion on the topic leading back to your blog.
Hey Terry
2 great points! It really is about creativity and working the content in a way that makes an impact with your audience. Thanks for your comment
Hi Justin, I just joined Best Quality PLR and am so impressed with your products and teachings!
I understand about the making the product your own, especially the articles but I do think it is a waste of the great graphics already on the products to go and change them, whats your thoughts?
Also I have been watching training on putting the products on an existing blog, making all the needed pages, my question is how many products do you suggest adding to a blog or does it matter?
Thanks for everything,
Laura Dews
Hey Laura
Thanks so much for joining. Happy to have you on board.
The graphics discussion is really more of a personal choice. Some people worry that if they use the graphics as-is, they won’t look unique enough. The truth is, there is a VERY low probability that people in your audience will have seen the graphics on similar pages/offers. There is just SO much going on online, the chances are just SUPER slim. So I would suggest you test out our included-graphics to start. If it sells well, no need to change. If not, maybe switch it up a bit.
In terms of adding products to a blog, that is really all dependent on what you sell, who your audience is and so on. In general, I would look at your overall sales funnel and how you can use lower priced products at an entry level and move people into higher and higher priced options.
hope that helps
thanks
Justin
